ENGINEERING STUDENT

AT ENSEEIHT

Hello, I'm Baptiste.

A second-year student at ENSEEIHT specializing in Architecture, Systems and Networks, I'm driven above all by understanding how things actually work: what the system does when you launch a program, or the path a packet takes across the network.

My first internship confirmed this direction by putting me in front of a production infrastructure. Alongside that, I learn a lot through experimentation: building, testing, breaking and rebuilding is still the best way for me to really understand something.

I'm currently looking for an 8-week internship in systems and networks to get hands-on with infrastructure at a larger scale.

Engineering Course

After a PSI preparatory class focused on theory, I joined ENSEEIHT in Computer Science and Telecommunications. In my second year, the Architecture, Systems and Networks specialization was the obvious choice, above all for its combination of systems and networks.

Semester 1

First year · 2025 - 2026

A common core from which I particularly remember a strong emphasis on mathematics and a solid grounding in programming.

Semester 2

First year · 2025 - 2026

The Centralized Operating Systems and Internet courses were a real turning point: they kept me fired up all semester long, especially during lab sessions.

Semester 3

Second year · 2026 - 2027

I'm discovering concurrent programming and going deeper into networking, following on from the Internet course. Current project: Interconnexion, where each group emulates a complete autonomous system, from VMs to routing. My part is generating the VMs with QEMU.

International Mobility

From middle school all the way to my preparatory classes, I regularly travelled to Germany, first on school trips, then through my town's twinning program. Over time, the country became familiar to me. That is exactly why, for my semester abroad, I want to discover cultures further from home.

My International Experiences

School Trips

Twinning Exchanges

Family Travels

Civic Engagement

Outside of class, I got involved in two very different settings: my town's Franco-German twinning program, and maths tutoring during my preparatory classes.

Franco-German Twinning Committee

Volunteer · Chaperone

When I turned 18, after years of taking part in the exchanges, I switched sides: I became a chaperone for a group of about twenty young people aged 12 to 17 during a week in Germany. I also translated guided visits from German into French. That was when my German became useful to others, not just to me.

Maths Tutoring

PSI preparatory class

Every week, I helped a few classmates with maths. When an explanation didn't land, I had to find another one, and that is often how I understood things best myself.

Other Activities

Music and sport shaped my school years, and badminton is still part of my life today.

Music

Piano · Guitar

Five years of piano, then four years of guitar, with individual lessons until my final year of high school. Half an hour of lessons a week, but above all the practice in between: that is where I learned that a difficult piece always ends up working if you keep going back to it. Each year ended with a big school concert, including group pieces.

Sports

Badminton · Roller hockey

Badminton has been with me since my second-to-last year of high school: in a club, then with the university sports association during my preparatory classes and at ENSEEIHT, just for fun. Before that, six years of roller hockey in a club. As a kid, I did figure skating, and I wanted to get back to gliding close to home.

Career

My CVs sum up my background. Below are the details of my experiences and projects, and what each one taught me.

Professional Experience

June 2026 - July 2026 · 6 weeks

  • Redesigned the onboarding tool: extended the existing Microsoft Lists list, built a new PowerApps interface adapted to each type of arrival, and automated follow-up emails with Power Automate.
  • Network: studied the existing architecture on the Cato platform and followed the creation of user and IoT VLANs isolated from the rest of the network.
  • Level 1 and 2 user support: hardware, software, network.

With a three-person IT department, I saw first-hand what it means to handle a constant flow of tickets, from servers problems to printers problems, while moving long-term projects forward such as an RDS farm migration or setting up a bastion host. On the systems and networks side, I was mostly observing: that is what makes me want to get hands-on in my next internship.

2020

A job-shadowing internship in BIM (3D models, virtual reality), then a web development course (HTML, CSS, JavaScript): a first confirmation that I wanted to go into computing.

Projects

Full-Stack Media Tracking Platform

Docker · Linux VPS · Caddy

A platform to catalogue and share our media lists among friends. I containerized it with Docker and deployed it on a Linux VPS behind a Caddy reverse proxy. My real discovery was the backend: using an external API (Tenrai) to fetch and analyse data from websites, and designing the exchanges between my database and the front end.

Unix Minishell

C · Unix

A Unix shell interpreter in C, built over the Centralized Operating Systems lab sessions: process lifecycle, signals, redirections, and rewriting commands such as ls and cd. Signal handling gave me a hard time, but it was really satisfying to see a working shell emerge from a handful of system primitives.
